Major Blondene Patrice Goulbourne joined the United States Army Reserve in November 2000 as a PV1. She attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a Personnel Service Clerk. In 2004 while deployed to Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. As an NCO she held the position of Human Resources Sergeant, Squad Leader and served as the Public Affairs Officer for the 408th Human Resources Company at Fort Totten, New York until 2008.
In 2010 she applied for and received a direct commission as a 2nd Lieutenant through the AMEDD branch. 2LT Goulbourne attended and graduated from the Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Sam Houston, Texas in 2011. Her first assignment as an Officer was at the 344th Combat Support Hospital, A Company in Fort Hamilton, New York where she served as a Health Services Administrator. She would later transfer to the 8th Medical Brigade where she worked in the S1 section as a staff officer. While assigned to the 8th Medical Brigade, 1LT Goulbourne attended the Patient Administration Course at Fort Sam Houston, Texas and served as the Brigade PAD officer until 2013. 1LT Goulbourne then transferred to the 439th Medical Battalion (Multifunctional) in Fort Dix, New Jersey as the Chief of PAD. She spearheaded the Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) in Monroe, LA where she received the ARCOM award for her work and was later promoted to the rank of Captain.
In 2015 CPT Goulbourne was selected for the AGR program. While assigned to the 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) in Fort Gillem, Georgia, CPT Goulbourne served as the Chief Medical Regulating Officer for the Division. She served as the Officer in Charge of the MRO staff section until 2018. CPT Goulbourne served in the hurricane relief efforts for Puerto Rico in 2017 as a Patient Evacuation Officer. CPT Goulbourne is also a graduate of the Health Services, Plans, operations and Intelligence course, Property Book Officer Course, and the AMEDD Medical Logistics course at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. She was promoted to the rank of MAJ in 2021 and is currently serving as a Healthcare recruiter in New York City.
MAJ Goulbourne is a graduate of the Healthcare Recruiting Course (HCRC), the Army’s Captain Career course, Medical Regulating Officer course and the NATO Patient Evacuation Coordination Cell course.
MAJ Goulbourne’ s assignments includes, Healthcare recruiter and OIC for the Manhattan Medical Recruiting Station, Property Book Officer/ S4 OIC for the 341st MMB in Seagoville, TX, Medical Regulating officer for 3rd MCDS, Patient Administration Officer for the 439th MMB, and Platoon Leader, 8th Medical Brigade
Her awards include one MSM, three ARCOMS, one AAM, Humanitarian Service Award, the GWOTEM, GWOTS, two AFRMM, three ARCAM, NDSM, ASR and OSR.
MAJ Goulbourne obtained a BA in English and a MSEd. in School Counseling at CUNY, Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York. MAJ Goulbourne worked as an Elementary School Counselor for the East Orange School District until she was assigned to the AGR program in 2015. She is permanently certified for PreK-12 grade in the States of New York and New Jersey.
Currently MAJ Goulbourne resides in Lodi, New Jersey and have two children and a Jack Russel terrier mix named Cindy.
