Dakota Gorman makes her directorial debut in the Gravitas Ventures film, All About Sex, which will be released on April 13th. All About Sex is written and stars Dakota as well as Natalee Linez (Siren, Power Book III: Raising Kanan) Emma Deckers (Life As It Should Be), Dillon Lane (Modern Family), Matt Angel (Legends of Tomorrow) and Parvesh Cheena (Crazy Ex-Girfriend).
All About Sex is a generational film that follows the lives of three mid-20’s friends, Sage (Dakota Gorman), Casey (Natalee Linez), and Morgan (Emma Deckers) caught in the grip of quarter-life crises as they meander through the messy, embarrassing and confusing pitfalls that come with “adulting”.
Through the journey of friendship, this edgy, honest, and relatable film illuminates the flaws of the human condition and the inevitable mistakes we make in life as we forever grow into ourselves. The characters hold a mirror to our collective bad habits, while also tapping into experiences with mental illness, sex work, the binge drinking culture, toxic relationships and lifelong bonds.
Loosely based on Dakota’s own experiences battling depression and the general anxieties that accompany aging youth, All About Sex captures one of life’s most volatile transitions — when the phrase “you have plenty of time” quickly morphs into “oh f*** I’m totally behind the curve”, and our love affairs, work life, and general existence seem to face plant.
Director Dakota Gorman has had two produced feature scripts, AFTERMATH (a horror/thriller starring Ashley Greene, Shawn Ashmore, Bitt Baron and Sharif Atkins) and All About Sex. She is currently in pre-production, partnering once again with Nicole Rio of Salt & Light Films, to direct the screenplay, LATE BLOOMERS, written by Sam Kozé & Gary Alan Wright. Dakotas acting credits include; Teen Wolf and Criminal Minds.
