Senior Director of Global Diversity of UnitedHealth Group
Ouraphone Willis, joined UnitedHealth Group in 2008. She is the Senior Director of Global Diversity and is responsible for the company’s enterprise global inclusion and diversity efforts, including leading the diversity and transitioning military and veteran talent acquisition and sourcing strategies.
Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Ouraphone was a Diversity Manager at Target Corporation, where she was responsible for leading diversity awareness and communications and diversity recruiting in Target’s stores, distribution centers and corporate headquarters. She also was a founding member and co-leader of Target’s Asian American Business Council.
In 2011, Ouraphone helped to develop the Asian MBA Women’s Leadership Council and led the council to help fulfill its vision and mission of advancing and empowering women professionals across industry sectors and globally. In her role as lead, she developed the Women’s Leadership Summit that brings together top multicultural women annually to share their work experience and knowledge, support each other’s professional growth and celebrate successes.
She has been featured as a thought leader in the May/June 2009 and 2014 issues of Diversity Journal and in the 2013-14 issue of Equal Opportunity Magazine. She has also been recognized by the MN Twins and Beyond the Yellow Ribbon organizations for her work in helping UnitedHealth Group become a more military- and veteran-friendly company. With over 15 years of Diversity and Inclusion experience, she has shared her knowledge as a public speaker at events hosted by organizations such as the Human Capital Institute, Direct Employer’s National Conference, Conference Board, National Black MBA Assoc. Twin Cities Chapter, National Association of Asian MBAs, The Minnesota Corporate Asian Network, the Minnesota Diversity Council’s Diversity Education Task Team, HR Connection, and the National Association for Asian American Professionals.
Ouraphone graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, with an emphasis in public relations. She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Asian MBA and as the vice chair of the National Corporate Advisory Board of Prospanica. In her spare time, she’s an aspiring Food Network star and loves to entertain her family and friends.
