Col. Donna Martin

COL Donna W. Martin graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Military Police Corps in 1988.

She served more than three years as a platoon leader and executive officer with the 66th MP Company, Karlsruhe, Germany. As a platoon leader, she deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operations Desert Shield/Storm from December 1990–June 1991.Following her deployment, COL Martin attended the Military Police Officer Advanced Course at Fort McClellan, AL. Upon completion, she served as the Battalion S-3 for Headquarters Battalion, Fort Belvoir, VA, and later commanded the Fort Belvoir Military Police Company.After command, she served as the XO of the 102nd Military Police Detachment (CID) on Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. In 1997, COL Martin was assigned to the ForceDesign Directorate as the Military Police Subject Matter Expert in the design of the Force XXI Division MP Company.In 2001, COL Martin served as the 3rd Military Police Battalion Executive Officer at Fort Stewart, GA. The following year she was selected to be the Fort Stewart Garrison S-3. In this position, she served as the OIC of the Deployment Control Headquarters responsible for the deployment of the 3rd Infantry Division to OIF 01.Before heading back to Hawaii, COL Martin attended the Joint Command Staff College in Norfolk, VA, and assumed her position as the Branch Chief in the U.S. Pacific Command J34 Antiterrorism/Force Protection Directorate.In 2006, COL Martin was selected to command the 385th Military Police Battalion (Dragoons) in Fort Stewart, GA. The battalion HQs deployed to Afghanistan from 2006-2008 providing command and control to seven military police units and a National Guard field artillery company’s intelligence liason officer throughout Regional Command East. After command, COL Martin remained at Fort Stewart to serve as the Inspector General of the 3rd Infantry Division and deployed to Iraq in October 2009. COL Martin is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, PA.In July 2011, COL Martin took command of the 202nd Military Police Group (CID) in Kaiserslautern, FRG. In June 2013, she immediately assumed command of the 18th Military Police Brigade (Rear). In June 2014, COL Martin reported for duty as the Chief of Investigation, HQDA Inspector General Agency.In March 2015, COL Martin was assigned as the Deputy Commanding Officer of the United Stated Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, KY.COL Martin’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Southwest Asia Campaign Medal, and the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal.COL Martin has been married for more than 20 years. She and her husband Chris have a son, Christopher, who attends the University of Virginia.
