Colonel Dina Wandler

Colonel Dina S. Wandler has served in the United States Army for over 27 years. She enlisted as a Flight Operations Specialist in the 1/189th Attack Aviation Battalion in the Montana Army National Guard, and later served in the 396th Station Hospital (USAR) and deployed as a Physical Therapy Specialist to Panama and as a Preventive Medicine Specialist to Guyana. She graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Psychology and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Adjutant General Corps.

Colonel Wandler most recently served as the Director of Personnel (J/G1) for the Joint Task Force Headquarters – National Capital Region (NCR) and the United States Army Military District of Washington (MDW). She previously served as the Director of Training, US Army Adjutant General School, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Battalion Commander, 593rd Special Troops Battalion, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Director of Military Personnel and Deputy Director, J1 Personnel Services Division, The Joint Staff, Washington, DC; Company Commander, 38th Human Resources Company, Bamberg, Germany and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from March 2009 to March 2010; Assistant Deputy for Education Policy Oversight to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASA M&RA) and Military Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Human Resources (DASA- HR), Washington, DC; Brigade S1, 1st Infantry Division Support Command (DISCOM), Kitzingen, Germany and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II from February 2004 to February 2005; Officer Strength Manager and Plans and Operations Officer, ACoS/G1, 1st Infantry Division, Würzburg, Germany and Turkey in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I in 2003; Battalion S3 and Commander, A Detachment, 38th Personnel Services Battalion, Bamberg, Germany and Kosovo and Macedonia in support of Operation Joint Guardian from October 2000 to May 2001; Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment and Battalion S1, 22nd Personnel Services Battalion (PSB), Executive Officer, 175th AG Company (Postal), Fort Lewis, Washington; and Platoon Leader, 19th AG Company (Postal), Camp Casey, Korea.Colonel Wandler holds a Masters in Strategic Studies (MSS) from the United States Army War College. She also graduated from the United States Army Command and General Staff College and completed the AG Corps Officer Basic and Advance Courses, Combined Arms Services and Staff School, Postal Operations and Supervisors Courses, and the Basic Airborne Course. She is a Joint Qualified Officer and holds officer skill identifiers as a Joint Planner, Postal Officer, Parachutist, and Strategist.Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters. She has earned the Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst (German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency), Schützenschnur (German Armed Forces Badge for Weapons Proficiency), Basic Aviation Badge, Parachutist Badge, and The Joint Staff, Army Staff, and Army Basic Recruiter Identification Badges.Colonel Wandler and her husband, Matthias, reside in Alexandria, Virginia and have one son, Alex and two dogs, Buffalo Bill “Cody” and Ken “Griffey.”
